A warm welcome from your hosts, Natsuko,Maarten, our baby girl, Lina and our friendly dog, Lucky. We love Owhiro Bay where you can enjoy rural surroundings and nature while enjoying city activities.

Natsuko is originally from Tokyo, Japan, Maarten is from the Netherlands. After a brief period in the Netherlands, they are now well established in Owhiro Bay.

Maarten is a qualified carpenter, he has built `upper boat room' (luxury bedroom), kitchen, bathrooms, balcony and the nautical deck in our house.

Natsuko, am a qualified chef, When I saw a pamphlet about B&B on a Wellington city bus, back in 2004, I thought instantly “This is it!”. As my strong interest was the hospitality/tourism industry, it was a natural choice for me. I had also decided it was time for a change and wanted the opportunity to utilize my organizational and people skills more effectively. Now I enjoy meeting lots of people from all over the world. My other passion is to make good healthy food. My homemade whole meal breads and muesli are popular with guests.

Their daughter, Lina was born in January 2009. Now she is in the stage of enjoying the freedom of crawling. It won't be long when she starts to walk.

Their dog, Lucky, is  a cross between a corgi and a fox terrier, she is popular with our guests, too. Her passion in life is to sleep, swim in the sea and bury driftwood. Her ambition is to fly. But she is aging rapidly nowadays. She is quite deaf at the moment. But the good thing about being deaf is that she can't hear fire works, so that she doesn't have to be scared of it.
